Behaviour Support

 Riverina Family Services observes and assesses behaviours of concern to understand the reasons behind them, allowing us to develop practical and achievable strategies that improve everyday life. 

 Riverina Family Services develops personalised Positive Behaviour Support Plans designed to improve quality of life and reduce behaviours of concern. Every plan is tailored to the individual, with practical strategies based on their strengths, goals, needs and the reasons behind their behaviour. Never  generic, one-size-fits-all recommendations.  

 Riverina Family Services practitioners take the time to understand the individual and the reasons behind their behaviour. We work across home, school, supported accommodation, workplaces and the community to design specialised interventions that are practical, consistent and effective. While you'll have a dedicated Behaviour Support Practitioner, every intervention is strengthened by the expertise of our entire Behaviour Support team. 

Riverina Family Services provides training on the implementation of all Positive Behaviour Support Plans. 

We also provide person centered training around how to best support a person in relation to their specific diagnoses and support needs.

 Being a parent can be tough and raising a child with additional needs is even more challenging. It can demand a lot of energy and time, making it stressful and exhausting. There may be days when you feel overwhelmed, or discouraged, you are not alone! 

Riverina Family Services can offer support and education to parents and care givers to help reduce carer fatigue and burnout.

Riverina Family Services provide skills development sessions with the participant in an environment that is most suited to them and their needs. 

Our office space has a cozy, homelike environment in order to help our customers feel at ease. 

We also deliver sessions in the community, school, daycare, and in the home, if this is more suited to the person's needs. 

Children and young people that have had adverse childhood experiences and require crisis intervention may benefit from Therapeutic Life Story Work
